Preparation and Assembly
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
- Cut the bread into cubes and place half of the cubes in the greased baking dish.
- Sprinkle half of the blueberries over the bread cubes.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread and blueberries in the baking dish.
- Top with the remaining bread cubes and blueberries.
Baking
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
Notes
For a make-ahead option, cover and refrigerate overnight to let it soak, then bake in the morning for a custardy texture. Serve warm with powdered sugar, maple syrup, yogurt, or whipped cream.
