Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to get it ready for baking.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing gently until just combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if desired.
  • Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Make sure your butter is softened but not melted for the best texture. Avoid over-mixing to keep cookies tender. Watch the baking time to prevent over-baking.
