Preparation

  • Start by peeling the watermelon, removing any seeds, and chopping it into small pieces. Place the watermelon pieces in a bowl.
  • Using a fork or a potato masher, mash the watermelon until it becomes a pulp.
  • Stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice to the mashed watermelon.
  • Using a fine mesh sieve, pour the watermelon mixture into a jug and gently press down on the pulp to extract juice.
  • Pour the fresh watermelon juice into glasses filled with ice and garnish with fresh mint leaves.

Notes

Serve chilled for the best flavor. Avoid using overripe watermelon. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days in the refrigerator.
