For Homemade Mayonnaise
  • 1 large Egg yolk Ensure it is at room temperature.

  • 1 cup Salad oil Add slowly for emulsification.
For Baking
  • 2 cups Flour All-purpose flour is recommended.
  • 1 cup Sugar Granulated or brown sugar can be used.

Method
 

Making Vinaigrette
  1. Combine salad oil, vinegar, mustard, and desired herbs and spices in a jar.
  2. Shake well and adjust seasoning to taste.
Making Mayonnaise
  1. Whisk together egg yolk, mustard, and vinegar in a bowl.
  2. Slowly drizzle in salad oil while whisking continuously until emulsified.
Using Salad Oil
  1. Use salad oil in various baking recipes or as a cooking oil for sautéing and frying.

Notes

Store salad oil in a cool, dark place away from heat and sunlight. Will last for several months when stored properly. Experiment with different types of vinegar and ingredients for varied flavors.
