  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup Can substitute with cream of chicken or cheese soup.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Try mozzarella or pepper jack cheese for a different taste.
  • 1 bag tater tots
  • ½ cup chopped onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef along with the chopped onions. Cook until the meat is no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.
  • Stir in the cream of mushroom soup with the cooked meat mixture and season with salt and pepper.
  • Spread the beef mixture evenly in a baking dish.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese generously over the beef mixture, then arrange the tater tots on top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown.
  • Let the casserole cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For the crispiest tater tots, avoid covering the casserole while baking. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) or microwave individual portions.
