  • 8 ounces pasta (spaghetti, penne, or your choice)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Use fresh garlic for a stronger flavor.
  • 14.5 ounces canned diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste Always taste and adjust the seasoning before serving for best results.
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving) Sprinkle extra on top for rich flavor.
  • Fresh basil leaves (optional, for garnish)

Method
 

Cooking Pasta
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Preparing the Sauce
  1. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about a minute until fragrant.
  2. Stir in the diced tomatoes and oregano. Season with salt and pepper. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
Combining & Serving
  1. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss everything together. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through.
  2. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil if desired.

Notes

To store any leftovers, let the pasta cool completely. Place it in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months.
