Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • ½ cup rendered tallow Use pure, rendered tallow for best results.
  • 2 tablespoons jojoba oil Can be swapped for almond or sunflower oil.
  • 2 tablespoons shea butter Melt with tallow for a creamy base.
  • 20 drops essential oils Add after cooling for best scent preservation.

Preparation

  • Add the tallow and shea butter to a glass jar and slowly heat in a double boiler until melted.
  • Alternatively, melt the mixture in the microwave.
  • Once melted, add in the jojoba oil.
  • Pour the mixture into a bowl and allow it to cool until it hardens.
  • Once firm, whip it with a blender until light and creamy.
  • Finally, add in your essential oils and mix well.

Serving

  • Scoop a small amount with clean hands and warm it between your palms.
  • Massage the lotion into dry areas like hands, elbows, or face.
  • A thin layer works best for effective hydration.

Storage

  • Keep the lotion in a clean, airtight jar.
  • Store at room temperature away from direct heat or sunlight.
  • In hot weather, keep in the fridge to prevent melting.
  • Use within 6–12 months for best freshness.

Notes

Use clean tools to avoid contamination. Heat gently to prevent burning the fats. Chill until firm before whipping for a light texture.
