Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In another large bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and well combined.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the butter mixture until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spaced a few inches apart.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until edges are firm and centers look slightly soft.
- Allow to cool on baking sheets for a few minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
Notes
Best enjoyed warm. Can be paired with milk or ice cream. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for three months.
