Red Lentil Crackers

Ingredients
  

For the crackers
  • 1 cup red lentils Rinsed and soaked.
  • 2 cups water For soaking and blending.
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Rinse the red lentils well and soak them in fresh water for about 2 hours.
  2. Drain the lentils and add them to a blender with 1–1.5 cups fresh water, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, black pepper, and olive oil. Blend until very smooth.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Spread the lentil mixture evenly onto the prepared baking sheet, making it as thin as possible.
  3. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the edges turn golden and crispy.
  4. Remove from the oven and cut into cracker shapes, then allow to cool and enjoy.

Notes

For variations, swap red lentils for yellow split peas or moong dal, add spices or herbs for flavor, and use different oils. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
