Ingredients
  

Dumpling Ingredients

  • 1 package 1 package (12 oz) pork or chicken dumplings Alternatively, use vegetable dumplings for a meat-free version.
  • 4 cups 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth For a vegetarian option, substitute with vegetable broth.

Aromatics and Greens

  • 1 tbsp 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 cloves 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cups 2 cups fresh spinach or bok choy Use one based on preference or availability.
  • 2 tbsp 2 tbsp soy sauce For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free soy sauce.
  • 1 tsp 1 tsp sesame oil Drizzle over before serving for enhanced flavor.
  • 2 green onions 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish) Add as garnish before serving.

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients to streamline the cooking process. Chop the green onions, mince the garlic, and grate the ginger beforehand to save time.

Cooking

  • In a large pot over medium heat, add a splash of oil and sauté the minced garlic and grated ginger until fragrant, which should take about 1 minute.
  • Pour in the low-sodium chicken broth and bring it to a gentle boil. Once boiling, carefully add the dumplings and cook until they are tender, following the package instructions.
  • Stir in the fresh spinach or bok choy along with soy sauce. Cook everything together until the greens are wilted, which should take around 2-3 minutes.
  • Drizzle the sesame oil over the soup before serving for an enhanced flavor.
  • Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

Serve Potsticker Soup hot in deep bowls. For added freshness, sprinkle additional chopped green onions on top just before serving. Pair it with crusty bread or steamed rice for a complete meal if desired. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat on the stove over low heat.
