  • 1 cup Sugar Can substitute with brown sugar or honey.
  • ½ cup Butter, softened For dairy-free, substitute with coconut oil or vegan butter.
  • 1 cup Flour Whole wheat or almond flour can be used for a healthier twist.
  • 2 pieces Eggs For vegan option, consider flaxseed meal or applesauce as substitutes.
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • ¼ tsp Salt

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, cream the sugar and softened butter until it’s fluffy and light.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
  • Pour the batter into a greased baking dish and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let it cool in the dish for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature with whipped cream, fresh fruits, or a scoop of ice cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. Can be frozen for up to 2 months.
