Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, cream the sugar and softened butter until it’s fluffy and light.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let it cool in the dish for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature with whipped cream, fresh fruits, or a scoop of ice cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. Can be frozen for up to 2 months.
