  • 2-3 pieces ripe bananas About 1 to 1 1/2 cups mashed
  • 1 cup rolled oats Use quick oats for a softer texture
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder Can substitute with carob powder for a milder flavor
  • pinch salt Optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla Optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon Optional
  • nuts or chocolate chips Optional add-ins for texture

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a small baking dish or line with parchment.
  2. In a bowl, mash the bananas until smooth. Add vanilla or salt now if using.
  3. Mix in the oats and cocoa powder until well combined. Stir in any add-ins like nuts or chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Pour the mixture into the greased baking dish. Smooth the top.
  2. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until firm and set in the middle.
  3. Let cool slightly, then cut or scoop and serve as a dessert.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3–4 days. Wrap pieces and freeze up to 2 months.
