  • 1/4 cup All-purpose flour Can be substituted with cornstarch for gluten-free
  • 2 cups Chicken or turkey broth Adds depth of flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Pour the turkey drippings into a saucepan and skim off any excess fat.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the flour with a little bit of broth to make a smooth paste.
Cooking
  1. Add the paste to the drippings over medium heat, whisking continuously.
  2. Gradually add the remaining broth, whisking until the gravy thickens.
  3. Season the gravy with salt, pepper, and optional herbs to taste before serving warm.

Notes

For best results, use fresh turkey drippings and maintain medium heat. Adjust thickness by adding broth or cooking longer if needed. Always taste and adjust seasoning before serving.
