Ingredients
  

For the cake batter
  • 150 grams all-purpose flour
  • 100 ml water
  • 100 ml milk
  • 80 grams butter softened
  • 4 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
For the filling
  • 500 ml milk
  • 150 grams sugar
  • 100 grams all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 180 grams butter
For serving
  • Icing sugar or your favorite garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, water, milk, butter, eggs, baking powder, and salt. Mix everything until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, sugar, all-purpose flour, eggs, and butter for the filling.
  4. Cook this mixture on medium heat while stirring constantly until it thickens. Once thickened, remove from heat and let it cool.
Baking
  1. Pour half of the prepared dough into a greased cake pan and spread it evenly.
  2. Pour the cooled cream filling over the batter.
  3. Pour the remaining dough on top.
  4. Bake the cake for 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Finishing Touches
  1. Allow the cake to cool completely.
  2. Dust with icing sugar or your favorite garnish before serving.

Notes

Ensure your ingredients are at room temperature for the best results. Don’t open the oven door too early to avoid collapsing. Let the cake cool before adding toppings.
