  • 100 ml 100 ml (½ cup) milk

For the filling

  • 500 ml 500 ml (2 cups) milk
  • 150 grams 150 grams (¾ cup) sugar
  • 100 grams 100 grams (1 cup) all-purpose flour
  • 2 large 2 large eggs For filling
  • 180 grams 180 grams (¾ cup) butter For filling

Garnishing

  • Icing sugar or your favorite garnish

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, water, milk, butter, eggs, baking powder, and salt. Mix everything until smooth.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the milk, sugar, all-purpose flour, eggs, and butter for the filling. Cook this mixture on medium heat while stirring constantly until it thickens. Once thickened, remove from heat and let cool.

Assembly

  • Pour half of the prepared dough into a greased cake pan and spread it evenly.
  • Pour the cooled cream filling over the batter.
  • Pour the remaining dough on top.

Baking

  • Bake the cake for 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • After baking, allow the cake to cool completely.
  • Dust with icing sugar or your favorite garnish before serving.

Notes

Ensure your ingredients are at room temperature for the best results. Don’t open the oven door too early; this can cause the cake to collapse. For a moist texture, be careful not to overbake the cake. Let the cake cool completely before adding any toppings to avoid melting.
