- In a large pot, cook the Italian sausage over medium heat until browned.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent.
Cooking
- Pour in the chicken broth and diced tomatoes; bring to a boil.
- Stir in the ditalini pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
- Reduce heat, and stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serving
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil or parsley.
Notes
Store any leftover soup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3 to 4 days. It can be reheated on the stove or in the microwave. For extra flavor, consider adding more grated Parmesan cheese on top before serving.
