Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and ground ginger. Whisk until well blended.
- Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Place chicken in a resealable bag or shallow dish. Pour marinade over chicken, ensuring all pieces are coated. Seal or cover and marinate for at least 15 minutes, up to 2 hours.
Cooking
- Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken thighs skin-side down and sear for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
- Flip chicken pieces, pour remaining marinade into the skillet, and transfer to the preheated oven.
- Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Use a meat thermometer for accuracy.
- Halfway through baking, baste chicken with sauce from the skillet.
- Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
To ensure success, maintain oven temperature and do not overcook the chicken. Using a meat thermometer is recommended to check for doneness.
