Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • ¼ cup honey Can use maple syrup as a substitute.
  • ¼ cup soy sauce Tamari or coconut aminos can be used for a gluten-free option.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Adjust the amount according to preference.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger Fresh ginger can be used for a fresher taste.
  • to taste salt and pepper Taste preference.
  • to taste chopped green onions for garnish Optional.
  • to taste sesame seeds for garnish Optional.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, ground ginger, salt, and pepper until well combined. This will be your flavorful sauce.

Cooking

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the bite-sized pieces of chicken and cook until they are browned, about 5 to 7 minutes. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.
  • Once the chicken is browned, pour the honey garlic sauce over the chicken. Stir to coat each piece well with the sauce.
  • Reduce the heat to low and let the chicken simmer in the sauce for about 10 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through, and the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency.
  • Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds for an extra touch.

Notes

Ensure your skillet isn’t too hot to avoid burning the chicken before it's cooked through. Use a meat thermometer to check that the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C). Be cautious not to overcrowd the pan; cook the chicken in batches if necessary.
