  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Optional.
  • Butter or oil for frying
For serving
  • Maple syrup or powdered sugar For topping.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.
  2. Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a little butter or oil.
Cooking
  1. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds on each side.
  2. Place the soaked bread slices in the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  3. Repeat with the remaining slices, adding more butter or oil to the skillet as needed.
Serving
  1. Serve warm with your choice of toppings like maple syrup, fresh fruit, powdered sugar, or whipped cream.

Notes

Use stale or day-old bread for better absorption. Adjust the heat to prevent burning while achieving a golden color.
