  • 3 ripe bananas (mashed) The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your bread will be.
  • cup melted butter
  • ¾ cup sugar Can replace with honey or maple syrup for natural sweetness.
  • 1 large egg (beaten) Can substitute with 1/4 cup of applesauce or yogurt.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour blend.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with butter or oil, or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, use a fork to mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  • Stir in the melted butter until well combined.
  • Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, mixing until everything is evenly blended.

Baking

  • Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and gently stir.
  • Add the flour and fold it in just until combined, being careful not to overmix.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
  • Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve warm with butter, honey, or cinnamon. This banana bread freezes well, allowing for easy enjoyment later.
