  • 1 cup chocolate chips or nuts Optional; feel free to use dried fruits or other preferred add-ins.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds flavor to the dough.
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and gather all your ingredients and measuring tools.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes with a mixer.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder until evenly distributed.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  • Fold in chocolate chips or nuts into the dough.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them about two inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown around the edges.
  • Allow treats to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for up to three months. Reheat in the microwave or oven as needed.
