Ingredients

For the Chicken
  • 2 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil (divided)
  • 1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
For the Slaw
  • 2 cups coleslaw mix (cabbage and carrots)
  • 2 pieces green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp honey
For the Wontons
  • 12 pieces wonton wrappers
  • 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp chopped cilantro

Method

Preparation
  1. Marinate the sliced chicken in teriyaki sauce, 1/2 tbsp sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic, and grated ginger for 10 minutes.
  2. Make the slaw by tossing the coleslaw mix, green onions, rice vinegar, honey, and the remaining 1/2 tbsp sesame oil in a bowl.
Cooking
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook for 5–7 minutes until done, stirring to cook evenly.
  2. Heat oil for frying in a pan. Fry each wonton wrapper for 20–30 seconds per side until crispy and golden. Drain on paper towels.
  3. Fill each fried wonton with a bit of cooked chicken and a spoonful of slaw. Drizzle with sweet chili sauce.
  4. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped cilantro. Serve right away.

Notes

Serve them hot to keep the wonton shells crispy. Store leftover components separately.
