  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples with 1/2 cup of sugar and set aside.

Mixing Dry Ingredients

  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.

Mixing Wet Ingredients

  • In a separate bowl, beat the eggs with the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract.

Combining Ingredients

  • Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed. Do not overmix.
  • Fold in the sugared apples.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  • Bake for 40–45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes
