  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Sprinkles or decorative sugar, for garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Roll the dough into small balls, about one inch in diameter.
  • Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Gently flatten each ball and sprinkle with decorative sugar or sprinkles.

Baking

  • Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden around the edges.
  • Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. Can freeze the cookie dough for up to three months.
