Preparation
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until fully incorporated.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the cookie dough.
Baking
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
- Remove the cookies from the oven and cool them on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For soft cookies, slightly underbake them. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets to prevent breaking.
