  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure butter is softened, not melted.
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Feel free to substitute with other types of chocolate.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix well until fully combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips gently with a spatula or wooden spoon.
  • Drop tablespoons of the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden around the edges.
  • Once baked, remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For the best texture, ensure butter is softened, not melted. Watch the baking time closely to prevent burning.
