Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9 inch baking pan.
- Mash the ripe bananas until smooth in a mixing bowl.
- Stir in the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
- Add the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the banana mixture.
- If desired, fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cool before slicing into brownies.
Notes
These brownies are great served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days at room temperature, or refrigerate for up to 5 days.
