Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork.
- Stir in the melted butter.
- Mix in the vanilla extract, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the sugar, beaten egg, and flour. Stir until just combined; avoid overmixing.
Baking
- Pour the batter into a greased 4×8-inch loaf pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 60-65 minutes.
- Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick; if it comes out clean, your bread is ready.
Cooling
- Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
- Transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
Banana bread can be served plain or with butter. It also freezes well. For variations, try adding chocolate chips, nuts, or spices like cinnamon.
