Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Bring butter to room temperature.
  • 2 cups granulated sugar Can substitute 1 cup for brown sugar.
  • 4 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk Can substitute with almond or oat milk.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Fruit

  • 4 cups peeled and diced apples Use firm baking apples like Fuji or Honeycrisp.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • Peel and dice the apples and set aside.

Mixing Batter

  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  • In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture.

Baking

  • Fold in the diced apples until evenly distributed.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

Serve slices plain, dusted with powdered sugar, or warm with ice cream. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days at room temperature.
