Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Bring butter to room temperature.
  • 2 cups granulated sugar Can substitute 1 cup for brown sugar.
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk Can substitute with almond or oat milk.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Fruit
  • 4 cups peeled and diced apples Use firm baking apples like Fuji or Honeycrisp.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. Peel and dice the apples and set aside.
Mixing Batter
  1. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  3. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture.
Baking
  1. Fold in the diced apples until evenly distributed.
  2. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  3. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  4. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

Serve slices plain, dusted with powdered sugar, or warm with ice cream. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days at room temperature.
