Main Ingredients

  • 2 slices thick bread (sourdough or sandwich bread) Use thick bread to hold the egg.
  • 2 pieces eggs Crack one egg into each bread well.
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, etc.) Sprinkle around the edges or over the whites.

Optional Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter Optional for added flavor.
  • Salt and pepper, to taste Season according to preference.
  • Fresh parsley or chives Optional for garnish.

Preparation

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Lightly butter one side of each bread slice and press a deep well into the center to hold the egg.
  • Crack one egg into each bread well.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheese around the edges or over the egg whites.

Cooking

  • Air fry for 6–8 minutes, until the egg whites are set and the cheese is melted.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and herbs to taste. Serve hot.

Notes

Store leftovers wrapped in foil or in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 2–3 minutes to keep the bread crisp.
